Rug Gold Fish

Japanese Watercolor paintings inspire the Koi Pond capsule collection. The rug's color scheme preserves the color transparency intrinsic to watercolor paintings, creating a soft and ethereal effect. The curved lines and color spots add an element of movement, giving the impression of persistent motion. This rug is hand-knotted from New Zealand wool and silk, with 100 knots per inch. The challenge was to convey the watercolor technique in the rug, which is managed using a unique thread mix. Each knot in the rug is made up of a track composed of three bundles of nine threads. These carpets incorporate so many colors that choosing yarns took several days.
