Currently on display in our virtual museum is a Toranji design rug, dating back to 1870 and believed to have originated from the region of Bakhshayesh. Measuring 330cm x 287cm, it features a central medallion design, surrounded by a blank space. This blank space is a unique feature that creates a stark contrast with the traditional colors of blue and red that dominate the rest of the design. Additionally, on the left and right of the medallion there are two peculiar symmetrical figures that add an extra layer of interest to the design. The small details and symmetrical pattern illustrate the exceptional skill and artistry of the weaver.
