This rug is a classic example of a Toranji or Medallion design. The design originates from the city of Sarab, known for producing beautiful hand-woven rugs with intricate patterns. This particular rug has three smaller medallions at the center, which are red, beige and blue. The pattern is framed by green and red edges and is composed of geometrically precise straight lines, creating a harmonious and balanced composition. This rug was produced in 1960 and measures 215 cm by 94 cm.
