Rug Khorasan-Birjand-7

The rug features a Lachak-Toranj, or Corner-Medallion, design with a mostly brown field of varying shades and a small red field in the center. The design is composed of circular medallions at each corner and a larger medallion at the center, all formed by intricate floral and geometric details in red, yellow, white, and black. The rug is quite large, measuring 450 by 307 centimeters, and was likely made in the first quarter of the 20th century in the town of Dorokhsh, Iran.
