The rug features a bright red field as the main background, with a variety of colorful lines in blue, black, and yellow arranged in an endless repeat design throughout the rug. The edges of the rug are yellow. The design is typical of the Tekrari style, originating from the Khorasan region. The rug dates back to the first half of the 17th century, though some of the colors have faded with time.
